Abstract

This paper tries to find the relation of population growth and its impact on environment using data from World Bank for 40 developing countries at four different time periods. By taking pollutant emissions of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide as the measure of environmental pollution and population density, per capita GDP, energy intensity etc as the explanatory variables I used the I= PAT model and run the fixed effect regression model; I found population density as the significant variable affecting the environment which is a expected result which proves the Boserup arguments of population growth on environment.
