READING COMPREHENSION THE BASE FOR BETTER LEARNING

Abstract

There are various sources of seeking information such as books, magazines and newspapers and digital media. It is said that reading maketh an exact man so reading is necessary. Reading with comprehension makes things clear so comprehension of the read material is of great importance. Comprehension is evaluated in terms of oral and written form. Present is the age of knowledge explosion and knowledge management. It is the duty of the teachers to train learners think independently and present the acquired knowledge independently with clarity of thought and confidence. In language learning mastery over four basic skills are required. These basic language skills are listening, speaking, reading and writing. All these skills are interconnected.
