Abstract
The idea of holding Simultaneous Election system strengths the democratic nature by reaffirming stability and continuity in the governance. Free and fair election is the basic structure of the Constitution which should be achieved only through the autonomous Constitutional authority i.e. the Election Commission of India. The superintendence, direction and control of all elections vest with the election commission of India as envisaged in Article 325 of the constitution. The governments validity can be tested by the most important method that is election, which no less than the festival of celebrations in India. The Election Commission of India has been playing an important roleandacting like the common watchdog, safeguarding in fulfilling the demands of Democracy. However frequent Elections have also caused problems for smooth governance, both at the Centre and State.
