Early childhood is the most important phase of life, so proper rearing practices play quit a crucial role in overall development of a child. A study has been conducted among 50 children (25 male and 25 female) of a nursery school, aged 3-5 years, to determine the relation between rearing practice and birth order with cognitive development. Two tests were conducted i.e. Cognitive Development for Pre-schooler by Pandey H. and Child Rearing Practices Scale by Amrapali. Results showed the clear cut inference that both these factors affect the cognitive development of a child significantly.
