Abstract

The chapter discusses the emergence of HIV/AIDS as a security threat. It analyses the securitization of HIV/AIDS epidemic by highlighting the theoretical implications of the disease. It is an attempt to provide a framework for theoretical understanding of the securitization of HIV/AIDS epidemic with regard to its advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, the purpose is to understand the extent to which HIV/AIDS is a security concern.
