Abstract

Through this study, the researcher come to analyze which type of curriculum of Health & physical education the universities of northern India have implemented in B.Ed. program as balanced, experience based, activity based, basic, life-centered, traditional or subject centered. In this study, the researcher tries to analyze the curriculum of Health & Physical Education on the basis of general & specific objectives of NCERT. It was a descriptive study. The sample of the study was 14 northern Indian universities offering B.Ed course. Data was analyzed qualitatively in tabular form with NCERT objectives. In this study the researcher find that there is a need to review the curriculum, syllabus and pedagogy of B.Ed. programme within the conceptual framework and objectives of health and physical education. There is a need to review the curriculum, syllabus and pedagogy of the teacher’s training programme for health, physical education and yoga offered in different B.Ed. programmes run by different colleges, institutions and deemed universities in this area within the conceptual framework offered by the focus group.
