A CROSS CULTURAL STUDY OF ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION OF GIRLS

Abstract

ABSTRACT Humans and animals share many types of motivation, such as hunger and thirst. Achievement motivation, the need to achieve, is a uniquely human motivation. The researcher wants to investigate effect of culture on Achievement Motivation. To study the achievement of Rajasthani, Punjabi and Haryanvi culture girls, 300 sample from various culture girls as Punjabi, Rajasthani and Haryanvi. Achievement Motivation Scale (2004) constructed by Pratibha Deo and Asha Mohau. Statistics techniques were used to analysis of data: (i) Mean, (ii) Standard Deviation, (iii) C.R. Value. Major findings are shown that there are significant difference of achievement motivation between Rajasthani, Punjabi and Haryanvi culture girls. Means of all group are shown that Punjabi culture girls have high achievement motivation in comparison to Rajasthani & Haryanvi girls.
