Abstract

ABSTRACT Like all other living beings man struggles for existence. The choice is always between a good metaphysic and a bad metaphysic. The values based on eternal truths of life, are the permanent values of the changing world. The purest form of ethical living can exist only when an individual has understood the root cause of social disharmony. It is therefore necessary for us to put forth our efforts in the direction indicated in the scriptures to enable us to grow inwardly and help bring about a progressive and a healthy society. Society trusts that the results of research reflect an honest attempt by scientists and other researchers to describe the world accurately and without bias. But this trust will endure only if the scientific community devotes itself to exemplifying and transmitting the values associated with ethical research conduct. This article concludes that a new way of thinking is required to function ethically in a socially interdependent universe.A need exists for spirituality to be incorporated into value based society. Such a process necessitates a clearer understanding of spirituality''s defining essence, that spirituality can play an ultimate role in developing value based society.

The Indian Trade Unions Act, 1926 with minor modifications continues to be the main legal instrument for existence, continuance and functioning of trade union industry. The Act has given to Indian trade union movement legal sanctity, social status and organizational coherence hither to unknown. Legally trade unions could no more be regarded as conspiratiorial associations against the established law and order and good government. The code of discipline in Industry 1958 also tried to circumvent the defects of the Act by establishing new norms of human behavior for labour management towards each other to promote industrial democracy and industrial harmony. But the spectrum of public policy as embodied in the Act and in other non-legislative measures with regard to trade unionism continues to e the hall-mark of labor policy. The Indian Judiciary is partly a continuation of the British legal system established by the British in the mid-19th century based on a typical hybrid legal system known as the Common Law System, in which customs, precedents and legislative are all components of the law. The Constitution of India is the supreme legal document of the country. There are various levels of judiciary in India – different types of courts, each with varying powers depending on the tier and jurisdiction bestowed upon them. According to the World Bank, "although India''s courts are notoriously inefficient, they at least comprise a functioning independent judiciary" A functioning judiciary is the guarantor of fairness and a powerful weapon against corruption. But people''s experiences in fall far short of this ideal. Corruption in the judiciary goes beyond the bribing of judges.

India is the second most populous country in the World, with over 1.21 billion people (2011 census), more than a sixth of the world’s population. Already containing 17.5% of the world’s population, India is projected to be world’s most populous country by 2025, surpassing China, its population reaching 1.6 billion by 2050. The overpopulation in India has engulfed almost all our achievement in industrial growth, agricultural production, supporting services like medical care, housing, transport, education etc.It is the time to reflect on population trends and related issues. Improving the status of women and supporting conditions like affordable access to range of contraceptives options could be the most effective solution to slow the growth of population. Both the factors certainly would contribute to delayed births, gaps between the two births and small families. To stabilize the population it is very important to create universal access to family planning which can be achieved by involving each and every stakeholder who can contribute.

ABSTRACT Women''s life in India and the world over are bounded by what can be termed as five ''Ps'' Patriarchy; Productive resources access inadequacy, Poverty, Promotion advancement insufficiency and Powerlessness". It is estimated that women do two-thirds of the world''s work. In replace they obtain only 10 percent of all the returns and own a mere one percent of the whole world''s income of production. It is a fact that the actual social grade and the genuine rank of political participation of women cannot be analyzed in isolation. On the converse it is interlinked with the socio-economic conditions, political environment and inequalities inherent in the customary social structure, its norms and values, customs and rituals. All these factors jointly centerline the actual social position of women. The pillars of democracy like liberty, equality, fraternity, justice etc. are well-built sufficient to maintain and protect the people from the challenges posed by man-made inequalities. Thus the study of the character and level of political participation and its resultant empowerment can be evaluated only on the basis of the availability of democratic values. Empowerment is not quality as achieving supremacy to govern others, but rather power to act with others to effect change. Political participation is a major element of empowerment. The present paper highlights the situation of women from the ancient time period to present time and also tries to show the improvements in their status and participation. This paper also makes some suggestion to increase the women’s participation in every facet of life.
