Abstract

Introduction: “Educational systems around the world are under increasing pressure to use the new information and communications technologies (ICTs) to teach students the knowledge and skills they need in the 21st century (UNESCO 2002, PIO)”. Apart from UNESCO directive / opinion on education system and the usage of ICTs in the teaching-- Learning process shifted the paradigm from the teacher, or learner centered education to the technology based learning. World around us at technology savvy, but the traditional chauvinism, and imbibed fundamentalism makes the mindset of stakeholders of the education system delayed to accept the changes through technology in the field of education. Other than academicians all other chunks of the society accepted and adapted the technology are advanced. Realizing the advancement in other fields, academicians slowly and gradually turned towards the technology now.
