Abstract

Abstract- Namita Gokhale is a writer who has sharpened her observation of life and conveyed psychological depth in her writings. She has created a new canvas for younger generation of Indian women novelists. Similarly she has highlighted the inner view of female psyche, inner aspiration and their peculiar response to their suppressed desires. Human relationship especially man-woman relationship is taken into her deep insight. She shows her protagonists as rebellions who behave against conventional roles. Her heroines crave for sex before marriage and show their dissatisfaction of their sexual life after marriage as well. This paper intends to explore Namita Gokhale’s protagonist’s sexual dissatisfaction resulting in ‘Neurosis’ of Freud. The reasons of their neurosis will be explored by analyzing their sexual peculiarities.
