Abstract

Recession is negative growth for two consecutive quarters and a significant decline in economic activity spread across the economy, lasting more than a few months, normally visible in GDP, real income, employment, industrial production and wholesale – retail sales. So because of this recession, many businesses are revisiting their innovation strategies. The most obvious innovation strategy for hard times is a classic one; cutting costs. This paper outliners the numerous marketing, strategies to cope up with the recession. This paper also focuses on the Blue Ocean strategy used as a innovation strategy for the recession.
