Abstract

My environmental interest prompts to ponder over the environmental vision of the Jain religion. The present article endeavors to focus on ‘Environment: Eco- Friendly Worldview of Jainism’. Indeed, Jainism is one of the most important and oldest religions, not only in India but also in the world. The Jainism is a heterodox religion of ancient India, which propounded the principles of ecology and conservation of Nature as well as it advocates to follow strictly to its followers. The Jainism considers that we must have an awareness of the sacred tie between human being and his environment which is necessary for our planet and its health as well as the survival of flora and fauna. Living beings get their basic necessities from the earth for their sustenance, therefore, we must not deprive our earth from its resources without exploiting, exhausting and polluting it.
