Menstruation signifies good health of a mother if it occurs regularly and without excessive pain, fatigue, or blood loss. Most women carry on their usual activities during menstruation. Although strong emotions and violent shock hit female sexual gland that in turn either stops or starts menstruation suddenly or sometimes cause permanent impotency, its irregularity sometimes depends upon low-fitness, physical inactivity and unhealthy lifestyle. Since Yoga has been recognized as a good system of lifestyle and helps for hormonal balance in enriching a state of homeostasis, it was hypothesized that Yoga may prove better to control menstruation problems of low-fit college women.

The availability of sufficient amount of food that meets our hunger is necessary, but the quality of food should also be good. Nowadays food security has become a critical issue in world because food is unavailable to all people, children all over the world are affected because they are not getting food for even one time for many days, however, the sad part is that those who are getting food are eating adulterated and unhealthy food, treated with harmful chemicals, preservatives and pesticides. My environmental interest prompts to ponder over the environmental vision of the Jain religion. The present article endeavors to focus on ‘Environment: Eco- Friendly Worldview of Jainism’. Indeed, Jainism is one of the most important and oldest religions, not only in India but also in the world. The Jainism is a heterodox religion of ancient India, which propounded the principles of ecology and conservation of Nature as well as it advocates to follow strictly to its followers. The Jainism considers that we must have an awareness of the sacred tie between human being and his environment which is necessary for our planet and its health as well as the survival of flora and fauna. Living beings get their basic necessities from the earth for their sustenance, therefore, we must not deprive our earth from its resources without exploiting, exhausting and polluting it.

To assess the progress of States and Union Territories towards the goal of Universalisation of Elementary Education, an Educational Development Index (EDI), a proxy indicator for quality has been developed by National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA) with the help of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). EDI is calculated separately for primary and upper primary levels of education and also a composite EDI is calculated for the entire elementary education. The EDI has been developed based on four broad Parameters: access, infrastructure, teacher related indicators and outcomes. There are 24 subcomponents in each of the Parameters/ dimensions of EDI as shown in the table 1. “The indicators were normalized before the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was applied to decide the factor loadings and weights. Weight age in the computation of an EDI is determined by using Factor Loadings and Eigen Values from the PCA. A progressive agriculture serves as a powerful engine of economic growth of any country. It helps in initiating and supporting the development of other sectors of the economy. It provides employment to around 60 per cent of the total workforce in India. After independence the Government of India adopted a constructive approach and specific programmes like new agriculture technology were introduced. Indian farmers being poor were not in a position to buy these expensive inputs. Therefore the Indian Government started the scheme of subsidies on the purchase of various agriculture inputs to facilitate the farmers. Subsidies are often criticized for their financial load; on the other hand there is a fear that agriculture production and income of farmers would decline if subsidies are curtailed. The findings indicate that the increasing rate of total subsidies (fertilizers, electricity and irrigation) is higher than gross cropped area (GCA) during pre, first as well as second phase of liberalization periods. The percent of fund allocation in five years plans for agriculture sector is decreases and fund allocation for industry & other sector increases. The present study suggests that Government should need of separate agriculture budget for India.

While at some places the problem is being tackled in a systematic manner, in many other situations the responses have just been ad hoc.

The life insurance industry in India has grown both in terms of number and business as a consequent of economic reforms and setting up of IRDA. The entry of the private players in the life insurance market has not only widened the life insurance market but also has infused competition and structural changes in the life insurance industry. The sector specific growth and the growth of life insurance industry after liberalization have been studied in this paper by utilizing the data on number of offices and their expansion, number of policies issued, first year premium and total premium collected by life insurers over time. The study utilizes the secondary data collected from various sources namely annual reports of IRDAI and annual reports of public and private life insurance companies operating in India and covers the period of thirteen years from 2001-02 to 2013-14. The study concludes that the market share of the public sector insurer had gone down due to the entry of private life insurers but the growth of public sector life insurer is more consistent than that of private sector life insurers. The North- eastern States of the country seem to be neglected by life insurance industry of India and therefore more efforts should be made to provide life insurance cover to the people of these states.

India is a nation of villages. Rural India constitutes 68.8 percent population and provides employment to more than 70 percent workforce of the country. Agricultural and allied activities are still a major head of vocation. Mahatma Gandhi also highlighted the relevance of rural transformation for the development of the nation in real sense. India cannot emerge as a developed economy without its rural upliftment. Electronic Revolution (or it should be termed as Digital Kranti / e-Kranti) with the intensive usage of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become a key factor for rural transformation in modern times. There has been a considerable increase in the percentage of individuals using Internet in India. The Internet usage has grown from 0.53 percent in 2000 to 15.10 percent in 2013. Abstract

Human rights as generally perceived are those rights which a person gets by virtue of being human. It is the prevalent notion, even though not widely practiced that these rights are inherent and becomes operative from birth itself. To put it simply, the human rights are the norm that protects and safeguard people everywhere from severe political, legal, and social abuses. These rights exist in morality and in law at the national and international levels. They are addressed primarily to governments, requiring compliance and enforcement. The main sources of the contemporary conception of human rights are the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (United Nations, 1948) and the many human rights documents and treaties that followed in international organizations such as the United Nations, the Council of Europe, the Organization of American States, and the African Union. Enactment in national and international law is one of the ways in which human rights exist. But it is not completely true for people who insist on the idea, that human rights are deeper, inherent or innate and cannot be conferred rather a person acquire them by virtue of being human. Human Rights though considered as a post world war phenomena i.e., a relatively newer concept but can be plausibly attributed to historical notions of life, liberty and justice.

There is a lack of unanimity among philosophers, thinkers and critics as to what it stands for in a clear-cut way 1. It can be said to be the fountainhead of several revolts in the past against traditional philosophy of living. It can be said to have existed ever since man came face to face with his own frailty and the meaninglessness of his existence.2

Global environmental concerns were born out of the recognition that ecological processes do not always respect national boundaries and that environmental problems often have impacts beyond borders; sometimes globally. Connected to this was the notion that the ability of humans to act and think at a global scale also brings with it a new dimension of global responsibility—not only to planetary resources but also to planetary fairness.

We all have read stories in which bad and corrupt people were hanged or stoned to death. Kings and rulers would crush the head of the villain under the elephant’s paw. Prisoners were left in the dark dungeons and slowly starved or tortured to death. There were also gruesome stories of burning oil and nailing the heads. But these stories were from the historic times when human rights were not recognized by the state as much.

Abstract

By the seventeenth century Muslim traders, Sufis and new ruling clans – the new-comers of once – had become centuries-old for the other caste, class, ethnic groups and religion by interaction in day to day life. Strange as it may seem, as new ruling clan the Mughals were neither new nor identical to earlier Muslim ruling clans of Delhi Sultanate like Mamluks, Khiljis, Thughlaqs, Saiyads, Lodhis and Suris, and to the people of Hindustan. Before the advent of Mughals in first quarter of sixteenth century, this process of coming, settling down and assimilation had been repeated so many times. This was the process that put forwarded the Lodhis, the then ruling dynasty of Delhi Sultanate, to fight against Mughals in order to save the land and people from the new entrant clan. However, Mughals were going to be a longest ruling dynasty and at the end they fought to the new entrants i.e. Europeans companies turned competitor rulers and lost altogether with other indigenous powers. These political occurrences, almost similar in nature and pattern, produced some noticeable changes in the society of Hindustan as well.
