In the 21st century, women themselves and others perceptions and attitudes towards them have undergone a drastic change. The media has played a prominent role in this transformation of roles and lives. What is the underlying truth however of the much debated, criticized and even appreciated, relation between the media and the female section of the society. Has the development, the openness and the globalization, turned the weaker sex in to a powerful equal? Or has the stereotypical projection and co modification of her sexuality made her more vulnerable? Is the education and awareness making it easy for her to cope up with the pressure of media jobs? Or does the gender bias still exists? Do the family and the society recongnise her as an asset? Or is she facing exploitation at work and at home? Has the media helped her gain power to call the shots? Or does she still find herself at the cross roads?
