Abstract

ABSTRACT: Hepatitis BVirus, Hepatitis CVirus and Human Immunodeficiency Virus are common serological markers which are tested before any surgical intervention on the patient. All three are viruses and have common mode of transmission and risk factors. 500 cases of liver diseases were tested in the present study. HBsAg positivity was seen in 18% of cases HCV in 23% of cases and HIV in 1.4 % of cases. 15 cases (3%) had both HBsAg and HCV while 7 cases had both HBsAg and HIV. None of cases was positive for all the three viral markers together.
