Abstract
Objective: The purpose of the study was to compare the status of physical self-description college students. Method: A total number of 120 (60 male and 60 female) were randomly selected from the undergraduate classes. The data was collected by using Physical Self-Description Questionnaire (PSDQ), developed and validated by Marsh et.al (1994). A prior consent was obtained from the subjects for conducting the study. The data was analyzed by calculating a detailed descriptive statistics. To compare the mean difference between male and female college students, ‘t’ test was employed at 0.05 level of significance. Results: The result of the study indicates a significant difference obtained in physical activity, general physical self-concept, appearance, strength, endurance and total score of PSDQ in the male and female college students. However, there were no significant differences obtained in health, coordination, body fat, sports competence, flexibility and self-esteem.
