PSYCHOSOCIAL CORRELATES OF HIV/AIDS RELATED STIGMA OF HIV/AIDS ORPHANS

Abstract

Emerging as well as highly ignored issue about Human immune deficiency virus/acquired immune deficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) are children orphaned by this disease. Worldwide, 34 million people are presently living with HIV (UNAIDS, 2012) out of which 17 million are HIV/AIDS orphans (UNICEF, 2011). India is the home to the second largest number of HIV/AIDS orphans in the world after South Africa and is expected to become the next epicenter of HIV/AIDS orphan crises
