Abstract

Any nation’s strategy must answer some questions like what external forces threaten them? What can the national leadership do to protect them? And what is the nation’s core interest? In Russian foreign policy these questions remain crucial factors in its strategic partnership with other nations. In Putin’s grand strategy, foreign, economic and defense policies have been followed according to the need of Russia’s national interest. China continues a major player in Russian foreign policy since 1996 and Putin’s strategy gave it priority in order to establish “greater strategic partnership”. Behind the development of a strategy towards China by Putin lies the idea of a global strategy aiming to counter US hegemony, and to attain economic interdependence to secure the internal stability of Russia and to grow as an alternative to the western world. But China has different view regarding Putin strategy where it would like a strategic alliance, but simultaneously not have a direct confrontation with the west. Russia – China strategic partnership can be understood by two different scenarios. First is the “optimistic scenario” that shows a strong and stable collaboration between them at the international level. Second is “pessimistic scenario” that talks about the differences of their interests which are major causes of the weakening partnership between the Russia- China duo.

Empowerment is defined as the enhancement of assets and capabilities of diverse individuals and groups to engage, influence and hold accountable the institutions that affect them. Empowering women as a vulnerable group is the critical factor to bring about a transformed and developed country. Denial of equal rights (as men) towards household property is a major challenge in empowering women. There are a number of historical, social, economic and cultural factors that have inhibited, rather, prevented women in India from accessing their parental property like their brothers. In recent years, the government of India has constitutionally tried to provide legal rights to women in the context of family property inheritance.

Abstract

The last five years have witnessed a spate of changes resulting in a radical shift in the very idea of ‘entrepreneurship’. The most prominent area in such shift is the evolution of Start-Up(s) in Indian economic framework. Start-Up(s) have been hailed and declared successful not based on their economic impact, but basis the extent of ‘Disruption’ they have brought about in the way services are availed or goods are delivered. Without undermining the great business sense that has gone into making these ideas materialize into great ventures, it is reasonable to suggest that entrepreneurs who have explored the idea of “Aggregating Services” (as against getting directly involved in providing the services) have found themselves in the enviable position of “Market Disruptors”. While India has seen a tremendous increase in the service sector, with businesses growing as a fast pace in the recent past, this idea of adding another layer in the supply chain has indeed yielded few of the greatest start-up stories of recent times. The impact of Start-Up(s) on the economy and the value addition chain is so glorifying that the Government has also come up with an altogether separate framework for such initiatives including schemes promoting Start-Up(s) in India. The “Aggregator”(s) like Uber and Ola, of transport services have today become the first and the most critical point of contact for the consumer. The traditional interface with taxi-drivers, the negotiations involved, the uncertainties involved regarding pricing, metering and billing have all been eclipsed and taken over by the self-styled aggregator.

The global financial crisis which affected the world economy by the end of 2007 caused extreme volatility and turbulence in the stock market. According to Rudd (2009) global equity markets have lost approximately US$32 trillion in value since their peak. Before the global financial crisis, the investment trend was focused towards the stock market where investors kept a constant eye on rising and falling shares as it was a source of yielding significant returns to investors. Investment in shares has also been a source of finance for fulfilling firm requirements such as expansion and diversification. It is a generally accepted phenomenon that investors are risk averse and the volatility of their investments cause great concern to them as it is a measure of the intensity of risk they bear.

Approximation solutions to this NP complete problem typically combine search techniques and heuristics. Traditional solutions require a deterministic search of the solution space, which is computationally and temporally exhaustive. The some static and dynamic algorithms are known to provide robust, stochastic solutions for numerous optimization problems.
