DYSCALCULIA –A LEARNING DISABILITY

Abstract

Developing children’s abilities for Mathematisation is the main goal of mathematics education i.e. to develop the child’s resource to think and reason mathematically, to pursue assumptions to their logical conclusion and to handle abstraction but many children have fear of mathematics sometimes it leads to phobia and children frequently make mistakes in calculations and understanding of mathematical concepts and the number system, approximately 3-6% children suffers from dyscalculia but Dyscalculia is not included in Disabled Act 1995. Nowadays children are facing this problem very speedy and it causes lot of problem and tension to parents as well as teachers, this article is focusing about Dyscalculia its symptoms, identification of such children and what may be the possible measures to reduce the problem of dyscalculia.
