NUCLEAR ENERGY, DEVELOPMENT AND INDIAN DEMOCRACY: THE STUDY OF ANTI NUCLEAR MOVEMENT IN KOODANKULAM

Abstract

This article seeks to explore as to how the overly centralized nuclear policy of India undermines the foundation of democracy, the principle on which entire Indian Republic is based. This is done after the thorough analyses of the concerns of the people of Koodankulam over KKNPP, their ideology, nature of protest, actors involved in the protest and the reaction of the government towards the movement.
