There has been a phenomenal increase in online shoppers across the globe and India has not remained unaffected from this global phenomenon. A review of extant literature on the relation between demographic factors and online purchase intention was carried out. Three demographic factors; level of education, nature of employment and age of online customers were studied in the present research. One Way ANOVA was used to study the effect of above mentioned demographic variables on online purchase intention. It was found that nature of employment and age of online customers has a significant effect on online purchase intention, whereas level of employment had an insignificant effect on online purchase intention. People who were not working are most likely to shop online followed by people working in private sector. It was also found that as age increases the intention to shop online decreases. Online retailers can segment the online shoppers on the basis of nature of employment and age of online customers. Important managerial implications deal with the identification of the preferred websites of online browsers and placing advertisements on them. Also, a larger quantum of budget should be allocated towards the youngsters as they have a stronger online purchase intention. Budget allocated towards the elders should be aimed at making them making them familiar and shedding inhibitions regarding online shopping.

In the ongoing effort to empower women, one of the significant step is the conferring of Property Rights to women. Empowerment is defined as a strategy to reconstruct the social environment where women live and play or enact their roles. Its main objective is to enable women from all classes, castes, regions and educational background to become economically and socially vocal and to develop the ability to take independent decisions about their own and their households’ development and possess equal capabilities as males to gain visibility and access (to resources) in society. Following 40 years of long engagement with the welfare state model, in 1991 India joined the fleeting trend of globalization and coordinated its business sector with the worldwide business sector. Immense change of each area of the Indian culture was unavoidable with this adjustment in the financial arrangement of the legislature. The nation before 1991 was described by the communist methodology towards the administration and organization depended on Weberian model of administration. Them two were intertwined keeping in mind the end goal to handle the difficulties of country building, advancement, social equity and worldwide peace. Appraisal of forty years of routine of Indian administration uncovered examples of overcoming adversity on a few fronts while disappointment on some other. Financial emergency of 1990's driven the Indian government to start neo-liberal monetary changes. Different changes took after these changes. Alongside uncertain issues of social equity, destitution, fringe clashes with neighboring nations the New Economic Order under the Brettonwoods Institutions (International Monetary Fund, World Bank) and World Trade Organization postured new sorts of challejiges which incorporate worldwide rivalry, ecological concerns and so forth. People in general organization in India has experienced extraordinary changes from its conventional depiction of unbending, leviathanian, welfare picture to the adaptable, decentralized and impetus under the changing way of the political economy after 1991.
