Abstract

Abstract: Women Empowerment refers to complete deliverance of women from socio-economic shackles of dependency and deprivations. The present study focuses on women empowerment with connection to their work in society. It is often believed that empowerment among women is related to their economic condition and work participation. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, a UPA flagship programme in connection to wage employment also focuses on empowerment of women. This research is conducted in Banasthali Village of C.D Block Niwai. The study is primary data based collected from 100 female respondents selected randomly. The response were elicited with the help of structured interview schedule and observation techniques. This paper attempts to find out that is there any kind of dependency between the work participation of female and their empowerment parameters.
