Abstract

The modernization of technology has made people‘s lives easier and contributed significantly to the social well-being so far, while it has also brought about some problems and threats stemming from irresponsible use of mobile phones. This study focuses on the population of Kannur district mobile phone users. Firstly it is an observational study of mobile phone usage according to gender, income and age groups, aim is to detect significant differences in amount spend on recharge among different age group of the population. Here total number of sample is 552.The collected primary data were analyzed with the help of various tools and techniques to draw meaningful inferences and conclusion. It is to be noted that the telecommunications sector plays an increasingly important role in the Indian economy. It contributes to economic growth and the GDP and generates revenue for the government and generates jobs.
