Abstract

The development dynamics of India is anything but balanced. The state of Bihar perhaps is an overwhelming statement of this prevailing scenario. The phenomenal rate of unequal economic growth of Begusarai district in contrast to the Patna district reckons us to sit up and take notice of whether the motto of inclusive growth is mere rhetoric. Development is a multi dimensional phenomenon. The process of development involves both economic and structural (social & political) change, at not only macro level but also concurrent change in the economic activities over different regions, including districts. The aim of the present paper is to determine the contrasts in the dynamics of development in Patna and Begusarai districts.
