Abstract

General teachers’ attitudes and beliefs are known to influence their teaching practices and management strategies in classroom and therefore, directly influence student learning. In particular, a general teacher’s belief about learning capacity of students with special needs may determine the extent to which the general teachers are willing to make adjustment in his or her teaching methods, curriculum or indeed, whether he or she even recognizes that some students in the class have some special needs. Self efficacy of general teachers is imperative for success of integrated education. Teachers’ sense of efficacy scale (TSES) by Moran & Hoy (2001) was used for survey based descriptive study. Opinion of 300 general teachers from 30 IED schools of 6 District in Haryana state was collected. Results indicated that general teacher, were effective classroom managers and had high self efficacy of teaching of students with special needs.
