Every person has his own definition of stress. Stress is an unavoidable consequence of modern living. Stress is a condition of strain that has a direct bearing of emotions, thought process and physical condition of a person. Taber’s cyclopedia medical dictionary defines stress as” the result produced when a structure, system or organism is acted upon by forces that disrupt equilibrium or produce strain”. "Stress is a noteworthy problem among teachers in the nation's schools. Research has shown that teacher stress is consistently related with a number of variables. Although stress always involves a transaction between the individuals and their environments (Cox,1978). Travers & Cooper (1997)found that teachers named lack of government support, lack of information about changes, constant change and the demands of the National Curriculum as among their greatest sources of stress.
