Abstract

This paper focuses on Privatization and Disinvestment in INDIA. The Privatization and Disinvestment Policy adopted in 1991-92 in INDIA has been proved effective tool for the development of INDIAN ECONOMY. Privatization and Disinvestment were taken with the objective of mainly improving public sector efficiency and for restoring budgetary balance. This paper shows an overview of Privatization, later critically evaluation of Disinvestment along with difference between Privatization and Disinvestment. Secondary data related to Disinvestment in INDIA has been taken from “MINISTRY OF FINANCE, DEPARTMENT OF DISINVESTMENT” to show the receipts from DISINVESTMENT from 01-02 to till date.
